The Story So Far...

It all began so simply, a car journey home from experiencing an amazing worship event, one little sentence: "We could do that!? And thus the wheels were set in motion. From the small group who had visited the worship event that sparked it all we formed a team, with a couple of extras added in for good measure. Our intention was to fulfil those words spoken so easily to create our own worship event to bring the youth of Welwyn Garden City, Hatfield and the surrounding area to see God.

The first task was to research, a most enjoyable task that involved visiting other worship events to glean some ideas. These ranged from "n:flame" in North London to "cords" in Nuneaton, all of which further persuaded us that a worship event was what we wanted to be doing and, far more importantly, what God wanted us to be doing. The team began to set those brain cells to work, trying to consider all the aspects and possibilities. Something that became ever more apparent as we began to plan was just how much God had blessed our youth group; without the talents he provided our group, it would have been impossible to even contemplate organising the worship event. I think it was on the journey back from Nuneaton that the name unleashed? was first thought up. It was certainly on that journey that many names were thought of and discarded, "Jerusalem Artichokes" being the most memorable! Things began to fall into place: the band was formed, the banners were planned, the MCs chosen, the logo drawn up…the amount of things that required consideration was a little bewildering but somehow we got there, and in May 2003 we got there well! Since then unleashed has continued to evolve. We try to work on a constant apprenticeship idea that team leaders will have someone in mind to replace them and will train them long before they have to leave. One of the most exciting early developments was the invention of the magic that sticks the banners to the ceiling. Then one of the more recent exciting developments made this temporarily null ? the changing of venue! The future for unleashed? To continue to spread the fantastic truth of God?s love in an event that will remain for the youth, by the youth, inspiring the youth to worship…watch this space!

Almost 3 Years On...

3 Years on and Unleashed continues to get bigger and better. The whole atmosphere, sound, appearance and content continues to build. Our God is awesome and deserves to be shouted out. For that reason we are continuing to keep in contact with many people and youth groups to enlarge the people affected by God's word. We hope to see you in November for what promises to be an awesome event and a way to learn more. See you then...
