Behind the Scenes

Preparation for an unleashed event begins months in advance. Halls have to be booked; teams brought together, new ideas discussed. The band rehearse new and old songs, the MCs prepare their linking material and crazy games, videos are filmed, the media team publicise the event and if unleashed is ‘on the road’ the set up and technical teams have to plan carefully the transportation and set up of all the equipment.

On the day some members of the technical team arrive at church in the morning to start setting up. The rest of the set up teams arrive several hours before the event and put up all the banners, prayer tent and technical equipment and give the church a full ‘unleashed’ makeover. It is a real team effort with everyone working together to make the event a success. Once things are in place, the band have a last-minute rehearsal and then everyone gathers to pray before people begin to arrive.

The event itself is of course the most exciting part of all. It’s the part where everyone’s hard work pays off. Every event is special and different and thoroughly enjoyed by all. But it doesn’t stop there, once people have gone home the set up team now have the gruelling task of packing everything away and turning the church back into its usual format. Everyone tends to go home exhausted but very pleased at an event well done.
